# Match evidence to the exact claim

Evidence means information used to support a claim. Ask whether it concerns the same medicine, the same kind (such as a shot or tablet), and the same health problem.

## A matching source versus a broad claim

### A matching source

The record names the product and the claim it supports. It also makes its limits clear.

### A broad claim

Ask what the source actually says. A medicine name in a study title leaves the treatment question to check.

A study about one medicine or health problem may not answer a question about another. Ask how it supports the medicine and use being offered to you.

## Ask what supports the offer

- Does the source name this exact medicine and the same kind, such as a shot or tablet?

- Does it address the proposed treatment purpose?

- Is the source an approval record, board guidance, or a report?

- What date does the source cover?

- What does the source leave unanswered?

## Keep these distinctions

FDA (Food and Drug Administration) guidance checked September 26, 2026 rejects claims that a compounded (made-to-order) product is proven to give the same result as an approved drug. [FDA · Claims about compounded drugs ↗ ](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/human-drug-compounding/fda-telehealth-companies-what-know-when-promoting-compounded-drugs)

FDA explains that a medicine-problem report by itself cannot show that the medicine was the cause, in material checked September 17, 2026. [FDA · What a report shows ↗ ](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/fda-adverse-event-monitoring-system-aems/fda-adverse-event-monitoring-system-aems-public-dashboard)

A warning letter records FDA’s accusations when it sent the letter. FDA says later contact with the company may change the status of those issues. A letter is not a final decision, and finding no letter does not prove a company has been checked. [FDA · Letter context ↗ ](https://www.fda.gov/inspections-compliance-enforcement-and-criminal-investigations/compliance-actions-and-activities/warning-letters)

Ask what the letter was about and whether there is a later reply or closing letter. It cannot settle by itself whether your medicine is safe.

## Keep this answer

Ask the person deciding treatment to explain how the source supports your medicine and use, including what is still uncertain.

Peoria care checklist helps readers prepare care questions, and its role does not include running a clinic or selling medicines.
