# Compare a room visit with an online visit

Telehealth is care provided from a distance; a video visit is one example. Compare how your health will be checked and who handles the next step.

## In the room or at a distance

### In person

Ask who checks your health, who gives any injection, and which parts happen elsewhere.

### Online

Ask how to speak with the person deciding treatment, share records, and arrange an examination if one is needed.

Compare how the visit works and how to get help afterward, as well as travel or screen time.

## Check the visit format

- Ask what the first visit includes. 

- Ask how your own questions reach the person deciding treatment. 

- Ask who arranges tests or an in-person examination. 

- Ask whether the prescriber can treat you where you will be during the visit. 

## The Arizona decision

Arizona requires the person deciding on treatment to judge whether a room visit or online visit can meet the patient’s needs, as of October 3, 2026. The choice must take account of what needs to be examined and the patient’s symptoms, history, age, location, and access to care.
